How to make puffS: My MOST requested recipe ever!

Here is the breakdown:

First the meat!


  • 1/2 lb of lean beef cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper.
  • 3/4 cup of water.

Add all ingredients into a medium sized pot, stir to combine. Cover and  place it on the stove on high heat. After about 5 mins,  lower the heat to medium and let the meat continue to cook down until the beef has really soaked up all the spices and water or approximately15-20mins. Set aside to cool, then mince in the food processor.

Masala making time!


  • 1/2 lb lean beef cubed
  • 3 tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 large yellow onions thinly sliced
  • 2 stems of curry leaves finely chopped
  • 1 box of puff pastry
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp coriander
  • 1 tbsp chili powder

Into a preheated pan,  add some vegetable oil, once the oil is hot ,add in the onions, turn up the heat to high -and cook down until they are brown…be patient! Add in minced ginger and garlic. Once they have cooked down add in all our spices and stir it all together until the aroma of the spices really fill your kitchen. Now add in the minced beef and stir so all the flavors come together. Now you are so close to eating some warm delicious puffs!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

On a clean surface, sprinkle out some flour so your dough won’t stick to it and spread out 3 pastry sheets. Brush on some egg wash, (whisk together 1 egg and 1 tbsp of milk)

Take about 1/2 cup of the filling and create a row on each sheet and carefully fold over the edges, then cut each pastry down the middle. Use a fork to press the edges together.

Brush the egg wash over the tops, and this is just going to make them look golden brown

Get your  cookie sheet ready with some cooking spray  and transfer this onto the pan…very carefully! Now cut each roll in half and then half each section, so you get 4 per roll. As you cut, wiggle and  separate them to create some space between each square.

Place it the oven and bake for about 25-30mins, until golden brown.

  1. Is there a reason you cube the beef instead of using ground meat to skip the food processor step? The recipe looks delicious- looking forward to trying and and thank you for taking the time to make a video too- it’s so helpful to actually see the process!
